Young Achievers of Northeast Missouri Executive Committee:

Rita Henderson, Director - Since moving to Kirksville in 1970, I have been very involved with volunteer work both with the youth and community. Being active in community projects helps strengthen the community so everyone can benefit. I feel it is important to be involved with the youth as they are so energetic, eager to learn and do well. It is exciting to be able to recognize the youth for the good things they are doing in our schools, churches, organizations and community.

left to right: Dwight Hart; Judy Hart; Rita Henderson, Director; and Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes, Kirksville Chief of Police - Although born and raised in S.E. Kansas, I worked 25 years for the Boulder, Colorado Police Department before accepting the Chiefs position in Kirksville. I have experience as an Officer, Detective, Firearms Instructor, SWAT, and a host of other assignments. Northeast Missouri has great kids. I am proud of what they have achieved and look forward to recognizing their efforts. This is a great opportunity to let the community know what an incredible group of young people we have.

Dwight and Judy Hart - After teaching in the St Louis area for 30 years, we have returned to the farm in Greentop, Missouri where Dwight was raised. In addition to farming to stay active, we try to give back to the community.

Judy has recently completed two terms on the University of Missouri Extension - Adair County Council (served as Chair for two years). Both Dwight and Judy serve as secretaries of the Schuyler County Ministerial Alliance. Dwight has served several years on the board of the Adair County Public Water Supply District and is currently serving on the Adair County Public Library Board of Trustees.

We enjoy volunteering and helping to make a difference in the lives of people in our communities and we consider ourselves fortunate to meet and know people and to serve others. We believe that the Young Achievers of Northeast Missouri have the power to make a difference and look forward to recognizing them.

Young Achievers of Northeast Missouri works in cooperation with schools, youth programs and organizations within the region.
